Mary Nelson GRSM ARMCM Dip Sach Hyp NCFE Dip Hyp & Psy GQHP GHR Reg F.FETTis an experienced eclectic counsellor and hypnotherapist. After graduating from the Royal Manchester College of Music (now RNCM) and later becoming a qualified teacher Mary undertook a long career in music teaching (teaching from beginners to graduate level) until she decided that her true vocation lay in the field of counselling and psychotherapy.
She enjoyed studying counselling, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy and NLP with SACH, Ian Clancy and later the NCHP and she gradually developed her own approach to counselling and therapy, influenced by the skills and theory of Carl Rogers and Milton Erickson .and using a broad range of techniques and methods from Cognitive therapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Gestalt therapy and Inner Child Therapy, as well as using Transactional Analysis theory as a way of helping clients understand improve their interpersonal relationships.
She specialises in working with women and children using eclectic counselling and hypnotherapy. 1 hour counselling and hypnotherapy sessions with Mary cost £40 and two hours sessions cost £60, but concessions may be available for low income clients. Mary likes to work with a broad range of issues including emotional problems, confidence building, performance nerves, pain relief, habit control and psychosomatic disorders (such as phobias etc).
